STAFF MAGAZINE Vol.11 A proposal for a lifestyle with a motorcycle
Bike wear that feels like a mountain parka and doesn't make you feel uncomfortable even if you wear it in the city.
This time, we will introduce the concept and commitment of this season's new ASTRO PARKA.
Article / Kadoya Magazine Editorial Department
It looks like a normal outfit, but when you put it on, it's made with motorcycles in mind. It may be interesting to think like that.
We would like to propose a lifestyle with a bike for the next era, rather than traditional bike wear. Being an innovator, Kadoya has long had this idea, so he has question marks on preconceived notions and always thinks about the next move.
Based on that idea, ASTRO PARKA was born from planning and design that was conscious of raising the degree of perfection as clothing (apparel) without using flashy logos or color schemes.
◆ Design concept
The design concept is that of an outdoor apparel brand at first glance, using micro ripstop fabric with a heathered taste.
Lightweight, water-repellent, and waterproof (simple waterproof specification for fabric only), this mountain parka style can be worn casually.
With a simple exterior design that blends in with the city, the leather patch on the front hem and the reflector print on the back casually appeal that it is a Kadoya product.
◆ Designed for riding
In contrast to its casual appearance, it is designed with the premise of riding a motorcycle firmly.
Thin and lightweight air-through soft pads are standard equipment on the shoulders, elbows, and spine that are accessed from the back lining side.
Of course you can also upgrade to CE pads.
The front pocket, chest pocket, and back pocket also function as ventilation to let the wind out by running with them opened and closed.
By placing ventilation on the sides, it responds to the changes in temperature and humidity of the four seasons in Japan.
A motorcycle rider's worst enemy is sudden rain .
The surface fabric with water pressure resistance of 10,000 mm and moisture permeability of 3,000 g/m2/24 hours protects you from sudden rain at the touring destination.
(*Since the seams are not waterproofed, it cannot withstand long periods of rain like rainwear.)
Contrary to the casual and universal mountain parka style, ASTRO PARKA, which is made with motorcycle riding in mind, is not a motorcycle-specific wear, but a product that Kadoya proposes to fit in with the lifestyle that has a motorcycle. I'm wearing it.
