Consistently committed to careful manufacturing

[Please tell us about your current job.]

At the head office factory, I am in charge of a wide range of tasks, including the production of ready-made products, which are the mainstay of Kadoya's manufacturing, as well as repairs and custom orders.

In recent years, I have had more opportunities to be involved in handling repairs, but I also participate in product planning, making use of the techniques and experience I have cultivated over the years.

[Please tell us about Kadoya's appeal.]

I believe Kadoya's appeal lies in its flexibility to take on new challenges while preserving the traditions of a long-established company that have been passed down for many years.

Perhaps because of this corporate culture, I have felt since I joined the company that it is a place where unique individuals with diverse experiences and sensibilities gather. It is an environment where we can face manufacturing while making the most of each person's ideas.

[What are the rewards, joys, and interesting aspects of your job?]

Kadoya's approach, where a single craftsman is responsible for all stages of leather jacket production, is one of its unique appeals that other companies do not have. Because I am involved in the production of a single item from beginning to end, a sense of responsibility naturally arises.

There are difficulties and a sense of tension, but completing a piece with my own hands brings great satisfaction, and at the same time, I feel the joy of craftsmanship.

[What is the most important thing you value in your work?]

I have a strong desire not to disappoint customers who choose and pick up the products we have made. Therefore, I always strive to create products that are meticulously finished down to the smallest detail and that we can be proud of, no matter where they are examined.

I don't want to make products that break easily. On the other hand, products can get damaged or break with long use. Instead of ending it there, I strongly feel the importance of repairing them to make them usable again through my repair work.

And I also value not forgetting the excitement I felt when I first encountered this job. I approach each piece with sincerity, maintaining a passion for craftsmanship and a beginner's mind.
