It's been a very hot day this year as well.

During these times, I always wear setta when I go out around the neighborhood.
The setta has finally reached the end of its lifespan.


There are several footwear stores around Kadoya, which has its headquarters here in Asakusa.
I was thinking of looking for something affordable.

While shopping near my house, I discovered an old kimono store.

``Looks like there are affordable setta here too,'' I thought as I peered into the small store with the shutters half open.
There was an old man, probably the shop owner, sitting comfortably in a chair.


As I expected, they had affordable setta, but I don't think there are any that would fit my large feet.

After the exchange of “There aren’t many of those sizes, right?” and “I see...”

``I have one pair, would you like to try them on?'' asked the shop owner, who said he couldn't move much because of his foot problems.
I slowly stood up.

Apparently, it's left on hold for customers who haven't come to pick it up even after contacting us a week in advance.





When you actually look at it, it looks and feels great. I was in a state of love at first sight.

"This is great! But it's reserved by the customer, right?" I said.

"Good! They haven't come when I've contacted them, and I haven't received any down payment..." he said, quite a delinquent old man (lol).

I said, ``I see! (Yatta!) Well, I'll take this.'' However, the price was not that reasonable.
Since I didn't have any with me, I said I'd definitely be back and went straight to the ATM.



I went back to the store and said, ``Actually, I want something with a leather sole as well.''

“We have it, but it’s expensive,” he said, and the setta he brought out from the back of the store were truly beautiful.
Turtle leather is used for the thong, and today it is considered out of place under the Washington Convention.

The price is 90,000 yen! ! ! I apologize...

Why would anyone buy such an expensive item? When I asked them about it, they said they sell at least one pair a year.


Just under 100,000 yen for setta! ? As I was surprised, I discovered my favorite hand towel.

Moreover, it has my favorite "turtle" pattern.

``Turtles are rare, aren't they?'' ``Yes♥'' The shopkeeper added, ``I'm sure there's a skull, too.''

When I said, "I like Dokuro too♥", he took it out of the stacked boxes of inventory.
Unfortunately, it's not my favorite skull...although I don't dislike cute skulls either.
It's a little too fancy...





Meanwhile, the store owner seems to have noticed that there is no turtle pattern in his inventory.
``I see...that was the last one...I see...'' he said, looking sad.


Even though the tenugui cost an unprecedented 400 yen each, we are passionate about each and every product we sell.
I can feel that the shop owner cuts the fabric himself.


In that case, it doesn't matter if it's fancy. "Turtle and skull. Oh, give me this too."

I thought I had made a good purchase, and when I bowed on my way home, the shopkeeper said, ``Please use it with care.''

It's a word that sticks with you.



Anyway, I was supposed to have come to the nearby shopping district to buy soy sauce, but why did I make this impulse purchase? ? ?

Actually, I've always had that tendency, and I often end up buying boots instead of going to buy a T-shirt...

I wonder if there are people who have had this kind of experience? I wonder if there isn't one...?


This is due to unexpected encounters with attractive things, but I also feel that the power of people is also great.

``I lost to this person,'' ``Even if there are other stores that sell it cheaper, I still want to buy at this store where this person is.'' etc.
This is an important point for me when shopping.

This time, the kimono store was a complete failure. I am still at the mercy of unexpected encounters with people and things...





By the way, you should also be careful about Kadoya's sales staff.

Unfortunately, I have only shopped at the Tokyo main store, but the staff are really nice.

So I try to stay away from it as much as possible, but I bought another one the other day...

It can't be helped since it's an encounter, right?
