Episode 11: Recommended items for connoisseurs (VEST edition)
Kita | Is your TW customization going well? |
Shirasawa | Well, to begin with, it's impossible to attach an egg tank to the standard seat, so I bought a separate seat, but I had to get creative to get the seat to attach, so I'm still thinking up various ideas. |
Kita | Oh, I'm having fun. |
Shirasawa | It's difficult to make it with ready-made products, so I'm thinking about processing it myself. |
Kita | So you chose originality over a simple installation? That's pretty strict. |
Shirasawa | After all, I want to customize it without compromising and ride it for a long time. |
Kita | Well, in a way it's self-satisfaction, so do what you want. |
Shirasawa |
yes i will. Come to think of it, I've been thinking about this again since I started getting into customization. Up until now, you've taught me a lot from a beginner's perspective. |
Kita | I agree. |
Shirasawa | On the other hand, what was the item that I forgot to ask about the other day that is popular among connoisseurs? |
Kita |
Ah, that's it. There are three items that I personally recommend for people who have been riding motorcycles for a long time. I'm talking about vests, CHAPS, and Ride Waders. |
Shirasawa | Isn't it for beginners? |
Kita |
That's not the case though. I think some people wear leather vests as street wear, but motorcycle vests with side lacing are almost only worn when riding a motorcycle, and I don't think there are many people who wear chaps or ride waders as everyday wear. In other words, all three items are items specialized for motorcycles. |
Shirasawa | I agree. |
Kita | The popularity of motorcycles has increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we are seeing an increase in new customers, many of whom were looking for items that were "soft," "light," and "easy to wear around town." But on the other hand, don't you think that items that are "hard," "heavy," and "only suitable for use on motorcycles" tend to be more durable, rugged, and professional-looking? |
Shirasawa |
Yes, it has a wild coolness to it. Also, the longer you ride your bike, the more opportunities you'll have to use it. |
Kita |
That's why I want it to be used by people who ride their bikes for a long time. Of course, it looks cool even if you're a beginner. If you're determined to enjoy your bike life for a long time, it will definitely be a useful item in the future. |
Shirasawa |
I see. By the way, what are the side laces on the vest for? |
Kita |
A formal vest is worn mid-length under a suit. But when it comes to motorcycle vests, I usually wear them as outerwear. You can sew on a team patch so that you can wear it like a uniform, and it keeps the shirt from flapping around and keeps your back from being exposed. |
Shirasawa | That's what it means. Because it's worn as an outerwear, it has laces so that the width can be adjusted to match the volume of your innerwear. |

|
Kita |
That's it. Laces are what make you a biker. However, wouldn't it be a hassle to have to touch the laces every time you want to adjust them? |
Shirasawa | indeed. |
Kita |
This is what you need in such situations. If you attach the extender to the front button, you can instantly increase the width of your body. There are various ways to wear it, and it's a convenient item when you want to look stylish. |

Shirasawa |
Wearing a leather vest makes you feel like you've stepped up your biker level. Besides leather, you also have denim. This one is made of textile, so it doesn't look as serious, but it still lets you show off your bike, so I'd like to start with denim. |

Kita |
Sounds good. Please consider it. I'm glad I was able to convey the quality of the vest and the lacing. |
Shirasawa | Come to think of it, is that also the case with the waist lacing on chaps? |
Kita | Well, that's not it... |
(Door opening sound)
Kita
|
Ah, I see a customer. |
