Sale of full-scale riders jackets

Brand KADOYA launched

In the 1930s, there was no leather for leather jackets, so they used leather brought in by customers or leather purchased for bags. Ready-made leather jackets were also available at the time, but many of them were weak and would tear easily, so riders who wanted the real thing had the idea that "leather jackets should only be made to order."

About 50 years ago, when Kadoya started making rider jackets in earnest, many of our customers had foreign cars. The current chairman, Masataka Fukano, first created the Kadoya logo, established the brand, and made the Kadoya name known throughout the country.

The current Kadoya mark is called the crown mark, and features the Kadoya logo and the Japanese flag in a frame that resembles a crown, but originally the company had a horse mark and a name written in cursive Roman letters sewn onto the lining. The horse mark was chosen because Masataka, who was born in the year of the horse, loved horses, and it would continue to be used for a long time.

And the mark became a symbol that strongly attracted customers other than riders as well.

We make clothes with the wearer in mind. It's a given.

"My dad valued his customers, and took pride in the leather jackets he made. We often made leather jackets for club teams riding Harleys and Triumphs. There were also many celebrities and athletes. When I was a student, there was a crowd in front of the shop, so I took a look to see what was going on, and inside was Kyu Sakamoto. My dad was taking his measurements."

The high quality of Kadoya products became known to many people, and they were so popular among celebrities that they were said to be the go-to for celebrities.

He made many leather jackets for Beat Takeshi in his younger days, Fujioka Hiroshi who played Kamen Rider No. 1, Tachi Hiroshi of Ishihara Productions, and Mitsuishi Chihiro who did car stunts. Kuwata Keisuke from his KUWATA BAND days, Nakamura Toru, Sharan Q, and Amuro Namie were also Kadoya users.

"There were also professional wrestlers and boxers. The sumo wrestlers from Ryogoku would come by motorbike to have their leather jackets made without their master knowing. They probably couldn't find ready-made jackets to fit them, so they had to have them custom-made."
