This is what happens when a long-established manufacturer gets serious about making stylish bags that look good even after you get off your bike.

It's not just apparel; it's about continuing to be "gear" that supports rider safety and style. This is the foundation of KADOYA's manufacturing philosophy.

In this series, motorcycle writer Mr. Aikyo, who has a discerning eye, actually wears KADOYA's main products and delves deeply into everything from their design philosophy to their practicality.

This time, we introduce a new bag series developed with the concept of "looking cool even after getting off the bike." Through Mr. Aikyo's meticulous impressions, cultivated from his extensive knowledge of motorcycles, we get to the core of the quality KADOYA pursues.

Hello, I'm Aikyo.
This time, I'll be introducing the Spring/Summer 2026 new bags.

I might be repeating myself every time I introduce Kadoya products these past few years, but I feel like the brand image is gradually changing. Kadoya used to be synonymous with "leather jackets" and had a strong image of rugged, tough designs, but recently, more casual products have been appearing. Compared to the past, motorcycles are now enjoyed more as a leisure activity, and riding jackets and pants have also adopted designs that blend in with city life.

The bags I'm introducing this time also feature designs and functionalities that consider what happens after you get off the bike, showing Kadoya's evolution. This will be a bit long as I'll be introducing three bags, but I'll explain each one in the order of "details," "capacity check," and "how it looks when worn."

LEG BODY BAG

Product Name: LEG BODY BAG
Price: 11,000 yen
Colors: Black, Gray

First, what I liked was the color variations. Motorcycle bags, compared to those from specialized manufacturers, cannot be produced in large quantities, so they tend to be only in black, which sells well. However, this slightly greenish gray is a color not often seen from other manufacturers, making it easy to match with any jacket or shirt while also highlighting individuality.

The main material used is ripstop polyester fabric.
Ripstop is a fabric woven with nylon or polyester threads in a grid pattern. As its name implies, "rip" is "stopped," meaning that even if it tears, the spread is minimized.
The back is PVC coated. PVC is a material that resists water, but water can seep in through the seams, so it's best to consider it suitable for light rain.

The zippers are also waterproof, so they can withstand some water pressure.

With pull tabs, it's easy to operate even with gloves on.

As the name "Leg Body Bag" suggests, it can be used in two ways: as a "leg bag" wrapped around the leg and as a "body bag" worn diagonally across the body.

Length can be adjusted in three places, but one place is designed for easy adjustment, allowing for smooth transition from leg style to body bag style.
*The blue circled part can be easily adjusted

Some parts of the strap use cowhide as an accent, but some areas are intentionally not covered. This is because thick cowhide would hinder movement in the adjustment area, so it is recommended to set the appropriate length in advance using the other adjustment points.

Excess straps can be secured with a button, preventing them from flapping around while riding and providing a neat appearance.

The strap that wraps around the leg can be stored on the surface of the bag, and by exposing the cow suede side, it also serves as a design accent.

The front patch is designed by illustrator Nobuki Kato. Since the material and color are military-inspired, it might be interesting to take advantage of the velcro and swap it out for your favorite patch.

The main compartment is divided into two sections, and even the smaller compartment can hold a large smartphone. The main compartment has a divider, allowing you to store thin items separately. The bright orange interior fabric also makes it easy to see the contents.

Capacity

・Items that could be stored:
Smartphone, earphones, reading glasses, sunglasses, coin purse, bi-fold wallet, business card holder

Due to its wide width, reading glasses and sunglasses can be stored horizontally in their cases. However, if you pack too much, the front compartment will be compressed and difficult to access, so a smartphone and wallet are about the right amount.

Image when worn

If you store your smartphone in the outer compartment and your wallet in the main compartment, payments at toll booths and such will be smooth.

The leg bag style can gradually loosen while walking, so I recommend the body bag style for city walks.

WAIST BODY BAG

Product Name: WAIST BODY BAG
Price: 9,900 yen
Colors: Black, Gray

The fabric and color variations are the same as the Leg Body Bag. This time I'm introducing black, but personally, I'm rooting for gray.

The waist belt section also shares the same design, combining cowhide accents with ease of adjustment.

Excess straps can also be secured with a button, allowing for a smart fit.

A D-ring is attached to the bottom of the bag, and by using the included sub-strap, you can prevent the bag from shifting when worn as a body bag. There are D-rings on both the left and right, so it can be used on either shoulder.

There is one main compartment, but it has a divider inside. I wanted to store a smartphone on the back side, but unfortunately, a large smartphone didn't fit. This is a point I hope for improvement on.

The patch designed by Nobuki Kato felt a bit large for the size of the bag. It's unavoidable since it's a common part for all three sizes, but it might have been better to sell the patch separately.

Capacity

Items that could be stored:
Smartphone, earphones, reading glasses, sunglasses, coin purse, bi-fold wallet, business card holder, 500ml PET bottle

This can hold a PET bottle, which is very useful for hydration during hot weather. A PET bottle and wallet is the right amount to use without being overly packed.

Image when worn

As a waist bag, it's compact and inconspicuous, but its capacity to hold a PET bottle is appealing. With a modular or jet helmet, it's easy to hydrate without having to take it off.

If you keep it close to your body and secure it with the sub-strap, the load can be distributed across your back even on a forward-leaning motorcycle. It's lightweight and fits so well that you'll forget you're wearing it while riding.

2WAY DUFFLE PACK

Product Name: 2WAY DUFFLE PACK
Price: 14,300 yen
Colors: Black, Gray

This also uses the same fabric and colors as the other bags.

The concept is "an image of commuting to the gym by motorcycle," and the quality of the cowhide texture and fabric is higher than typical sports bags, providing a satisfying sense of ownership.

This model is not equipped with waterproof zippers, but it does have a large flap, which should protect against light rain. Despite its large 35L capacity, the material itself is lightweight, so there is no stress in carrying it.

The "two-way" name means it can be used as both a duffle bag and a backpack. It easily transforms into a backpack by simply changing the handle.

Magnetic buckles are used for attachment, allowing for one-touch operation.

The chest strap, when used as a backpack, is also magnetic, making it very smooth to attach and detach.

The back features a reflective Kadoya logo, increasing visibility at night.

The main compartment is divided into one outer pocket and the main section, with the outer pocket being large enough to fit a large smartphone.

The main compartment has two side pockets, allowing you to organize small items like earphones.

Capacity

・Items that could be stored:
Low chair, table, gadget pouch, single burner, 1L bottle, mobile battery, mug cup, business card holder, camera, microphone, reading glasses, sunglasses, smartphone, rainwear (top and bottom), wallets

An astonishing amount of luggage fit inside. It feels like it can store items more efficiently than a typical 35L bag.

Image when worn

It's so stylish that you wouldn't think a motorcycle gear manufacturer made it; you can take it to travel or the gym without feeling out of place.

When worn, it has some size, but because it's duffel-based with a wide gusset, its width and height are not significantly different from a typical backpack, so it doesn't feel cumbersome.

Summary

This time, I introduced three new bags from Kadoya.
My honest impression is that they achieve a very high level of balance between design and functionality as bags for everyday use.

From a rider's perspective, one might think, "If the duffel had loops, it could also be used as a seat bag," but by intentionally refraining from pursuing such "motorcycle-specific" features, the design achieves an exquisite balance that makes it easy for everyday use.

It's wonderful that an established brand like Kadoya continues to create innovative products that match the lifestyles of today's riders. While traditional styles are also appealing, I found this evolution towards a more casual line to be a very exciting development.
