[Tell us about your current job.]

I mainly work on manufacturing leather accessories such as bags, and I also assist in making leather jackets.

I learn techniques by closely observing the work of my senior craftsmen, and I gradually increase what I can do by experiencing each step of the process.

[What do you find appealing about Kadoya?]

I believe it's the rich individuality of the people working here. Each person has a unique background, and they apply the experience and sensibilities they've cultivated to their current work.

Even experiences that seem unrelated to manufacturing at first glance lead to new ideas and work unique to that person. I am attracted to an environment where we respect each other's individuality and can leverage our strengths.

[What are the rewards, joys, and interesting aspects of your job?]

I find great satisfaction in being able to transform leather from a raw material into a product with my own hands.

The leather, which was flat when cut, gradually takes shape as the work progresses and eventually becomes a three-dimensional product. Being involved in the entire process, from creating something myself to its shipment to the customer, is what makes this job interesting.

There is a great deal of responsibility involved in overseeing the product to completion, but precisely because of that sense of responsibility, there is a tremendous sense of accomplishment when the product is successfully finished.

[What do you value most in your work?]

During production, I prioritize concentrating on the task at hand above all else. The words taught to me by a senior craftsman, "If you create something with a careless attitude, you will only produce something of corresponding quality," serve as my motto when approaching manufacturing.

I hone my skills daily, paying close attention to each step of the process, and aiming for a finish that will satisfy the customers who will hold the product.
