A little maniac pattern (design drawing) story
When planning and designing, there are also maniac (somewhat unnecessary?) tasks.
That's the design of the pattern (blueprint)
Well, I think it's okay to talk about this kind of content...
Please keep in touch as a short story of Kadoya planning man lol
I always start planning about a year and a half before release. (Currently, we are launching Fall / Winter 2021 ...)
At the beginning of the project, the design is made on paper.
So to speak, it's a desk theory , so honestly, I think the accuracy of the design is 30% at best.
Over the course of a year and a half, we will carefully create samples (prototypes) many times and boil them down.
to reach completion
<Starting point design + pattern (design) + sewing accuracy is very important. >
I think people in the clothing and manufacturing industries will agree with me.
The design and pattern (design), sewing (manufacturing site)
As a designer, I am very conscious of how much I can imagine .
So, as a designer, I simulate the general pattern and points to note by drafting.
(The above photo is an image of a drafting design scribbled on a notepad)
Cut, connect, bend, and twist the patterns you created in the past.
If you do this, it will give you a sense of volume, or the design will shine.
It's also reasonable and hard to break, isn't it?
In the midst of that, like a flashback, the actual image of the finished product popped into my mind.
When I put my sleeves through a sewn suit, I could feel the weight and the feeling of wearing it.
I'm going to focus on the first one and sharpen my senses.
At this time, we also decide on the detailed design and sewing specifications.
I can't help but think, "Isn't it unnecessary because the pattern maker is drawing the draft anyway?"
The pattern makers and the staff at the main factory use their knowledge and experience to create "what you want to do" from your own perspective.
Because it makes the content "It's more rational, easier to make, and cooler, isn't it?"
I really like the <manufacturing dialogue> in this company,
I think it's important to make good things and to create better plans .
I make it while doing such negotiations many times, so I'm really happy when mass production is confirmed.
(It seems that the content will gradually change from a pattern story to the head office factory's pride, so I will talk about that next time...)
<As a planner>
I have to keep refining my sense of design
I have to acquire more and more knowledge about sewing and materials
In the meantime
The time to face a blank sheet called a pattern is extremely free
I feel infinite.
It was such a small story.
